Walking with the fiery skull

In contact with the witch, Vasilisa has received some of the power of Baba Yaga. In many traditions, bones especially those of the skull, contain the deceased’s soul beyond death. Giving it a glowing skull, the witch bequeaths the child a matriarchal heritage.

With its introduction, Vasilisa is in full possession of her wild nature, she understands and recognizes the language of the soul of her own psyche (whose various aspects are represented by the mother, the doll, the Baba Yaga, the skull, the wicked step-mother …). Thus, following her intuition: her deep knowledge, she will be able to achieve.
